Design
Silver Surf resembles an extremely long surf board in a surreal metallic finish, propped on two thin legs in an equally surreal floating appearance. Its fascinating concave and convex surfaces also recall the waveforms of a sea surf.
Designed as a mono-coque structure, with the outer surfaces bearing the weight, the whole bench is in fact a load-bearing beam! This makes Silver Surf very efficient in material utilization and strong, such that a span of six seats is possible between two legs. Yet, the Silver Surf appears thin and slim, thanks to careful shape design to hide its actual bulk from normal viewing angles.
Beauty and Strength
Silver Surf is designed for use in public waiting areas. The aluminum extrusion structure makes it strong and tough enough for parks and underground train platforms, while its graceful form makes it perfectly acceptable in corporate atriums, airports, malls and museums. |

| SPECIFICATIONS |
|

Monocoque shell structure is constructed from 6063 aluminum alloy extrusions, and finished in epoxy powder coating for surface durability. A fine grooved texture is applied on seating surfaces to provide grip and minimise scratching from daily rigours. A smooth radii on the groove bottom does not trap dirt and makes cleaning easier. Caps on both ends are of diecast aluminum alloy , also finished in colour-matching epoxy powder coating. Aluminum is resistant to corrosion from outdoor environments.
Upholstered pads is suitable for indoor use only and can be finished in fabric, leather or PVC/PU covering specified from the Merryfair range. Pads consist of an inner shell in recyclable polypropylene, and a 15mm polyurethane sponge padding. Worn out upholstery can be easily replaced by snap-fitting new pads onto the bench. No fixing holes are required, therefore a bare bench can be upgraded by retro-fitting spare pads later without any modifications.
Armrests are injection-moulded polypropylene in black or grey colour suitable for indoor or outdoors. Armrests can also be retro-fitted later on an armless bench without modifications.
Legs are of diecast aluminum alloy, in a mirror-polished finish. Base feet in black polypropylene, are adjustable in height to compensate for uneven floors. All brackets, fasteners and hardware are zinc-plated for corrosion resistance. |

Outdoors
A bare aluminum Silver Surf bench without upholstery is suitable for outdoor applications such as corporate campus, parks, resorts, golf clubs and public transport platforms. The all aluminum construction and use of corrosion-resistant plated hardware allows it to take on any weather. A deep groove in the middle of the seat quickly drains rain water. Optional thermoplastic armrest is not degraded by outdoor elements.

Indoors
Indoor units may be fitted with upholstered pads for added comfort. Designed for heavy use, the upholstery stop short at front and back edges to prevent fabric damage due to bumping from trolleys etc. Fabric, leather or PU/PVC colours can be specified to blend with any interior surrounding. Armrests are also useful to discourage vagrants from lying down.

Wall mountings allow Silver Surf to be free of legs! This is suitable for seating along an aisle or cafeteria wall, where a fixed position is preferred. Wall construction material and bench length will determine the required bracket quantity. The bracket is powder-coated in black and takes M10 anchor bolts. |

Floor mounting maybe prefered for security reasons, such as rioting or theft. This is suitable for high-traffic, public areas such as underground stations, stadiums, shopping malls and parks. The powder-coated post is to be encased in concrete up to a meter deep. |

End Connection Kit
As if a 6-seater is not long enough, Silver Surf length can be increased by connecting two or more benches using a connection kit. Different types of benches, with or without back, back facing forward or backward, can be joined to created an unique seating solution. By mixing bench types, the connection kit can give infinite possibilities and infinite length! | |
